About Danielle

Danielle Boucher Quast LAc. M.Ac.O.M.

Danielle Quast has a bachelor of science from Portland State University, where she studied general science and international studies with a focus on China. She received a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She is now an NCCAOM nationally board certified diplomat of Acupuncture and Chinese medicine and is licensed by the board of medical examiners in the state of Oregon. In 2006 she completed a Chinese medicine intensive program in Nanjing, China at China Nanjing International Acupuncture Training Centre sponsored by the State Administration of Chinese Medicine, People’s Republic of China.

While growing up in Durango, Colorado, Danielle was exposed at an early age to the healing benefits of plants, herbs, meditation and yoga. Living in the Four Corners area of the South Western United States also introduced her to the Native American cultures of the Navajo and Southern Ute tribes. She met several Native American medicine men and women and became fascinated by their ancient form of herbal healing. She befriended an acupuncturist/naturopath (Louise Edwards) in Durango in 1990 who would become her mentor. All of these experiences inspired her to begin a lifelong study in natural medicine.

Danielle moved to Portland, Oregon in 1994 in search of an education in natural medicine. While figuring out where she would go to school, she learned the bodywork art of Reiki from teacher Sheila King. She received a second level certificate and began giving Reiki treatments. At this time she also began receiving regular acupuncture and herbal prescription treatments at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She had had stomach pain since the age of 12 and had been to many doctors with no relief. Within just a couple of months her stomach pain was completely gone. She felt like a new person, and became a believer in the power of acupuncture and Chinese medicine.

Danielle now practices acupuncture in Portland Oregon where she lives with her husband, beagle, 4 chickens and a cat.
